Nader Saab (born 20 September 1971) is a Lebanese aesthetic plastic and reconstructive surgeon[1] He founded Dr. Nader Saab Hospital in Naccache, Lebanon, and has had clinics abroad.[2]
Career
After practicing in France, Saab returned to Lebanon and established the Dr. Nader Saab Cosmetic Surgery Hospital.[3] Following the death of a patient in 2017, the Lebanese Ministry of Health imposed restrictions on surgeries requiring general anesthesia at his clinic.[4]
Media and public appearances
Saab has appeared on regional television and beauty pageant juries. In 2018, he was reported to have confronted Dr. Elie Abdelhak on a Beirut–Dubai flight in connection with tensions around reporting of the 2017 patient death.[5]
Controversies
In June 2017, 33-year-old Farah Kassab (Iraqi/Jordanian) died during a liposuction procedure performed at Saab’s clinic.[6] The Lebanese judiciary and the Order of Physicians opened an investigation into the incident.[7]
Later, following public pressure, the Health Ministry banned certain anesthesia-based cosmetic surgeries at his hospital while the inquiry was ongoing.[2]
