Nadia Burger
Nadia Burger (born 1971 or 1972 in Montreal) is a Canadian diplomat.
Burger has held a bachelor's degree in political science from McGill University since 1994 and a doctorate in international relations from the Graduate Institute of International Studies in Geneva since 1996.
In 1998, she joined the Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs. She worked in Ottawa as a political advisor to the deputy minister of foreign affairs and as deputy director of the China and Mongolia Division. In 1999, as part of the preparations for the Francophonie Summit in Moncton, Burger was transferred to the Canadian Embassy in France. In 2002, she moved on to the Canadian Embassy in China. In 2007, Burger was appointed director of cabinet and parliamentary affairs, and subsequently served as director for relations with Southeast Asia and Oceania, director of defense and security relations, and director for trade relations with the European Union and the European Free Trade Association Commercial Relations.[1]
In 2017, Burger was appointed Minister and Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Canada in Japan, and in 2021, Ambassador of Canada to Indonesia and East Timor. She transmitted her second accreditation for East Timor via video conference, on April 29, 2022, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.[2]

Nadia Burger's mother tongue is French. In addition to her mother tongue, she speaks English, German, Spanish, Chinese and Vietnamese. She learned German and Spanish in high school, Chinese starting in 1991 at Xiamen University in Beijing and Vietnamese while working as an embassy clerk at the Canadian Embassy in Vietnam, where she worked in 1996 after graduating.
Burger is married.
