Nakshatra Bagwe is an Indian actor and filmmaker.[1][2]

Early life and career[edit]

He is a LGBT rights activist and was also a part of the organizing team of Gujarat's first ever pride march. He also spearheaded Gujarat's third and Baroda's first LGBT pride march. Nakshatra owned a travel company named 'The BackPack Travels' which exclusively caters to gay and bisexual men.[3]Nakshatra posed nude for a campaign named 'Breaking Closets'.[4]

Awards and acclaims[edit]

He won Kashish Coffee Break Online Audience Award award at Kashish Mumbai Queer Film Festival, India (for Logging Out)[8] He received his award from Resul Pookutty.[9] Knowing that Logging Out was made at an extremely low budget, actor, Anupam Kher declared a sponsorship of Rs 50,000 for the following year of Kashish.[10] In July 2014, he became the brand ambassador of Moovz, a global social network for LGBT community.[11][12]
