Naomi Ishiguro is a British writer.

Biography[edit]

Ishiguro attended South Hampstead High School in Hampstead, London and studied writing at the University of East Anglia. She is the daughter of the novelist Kazuo Ishiguro. Growing up, she read many Philip Pullman and Neil Gaiman books.[1] Before university, she worked as a bookseller and bibliotherapist at Mr B.'s Emporium in Bath.[2]

On 6 February 2020, Ishiguro's first short story collection, Escape Routes, was published by Tinder Press.[3][4] In her book review, the American writer Rowan Hisayo Buchanan wrote: 'A writer whose voice I hope to be following for many years to come'.[5] The Sunday Times described Escape Routes as: 'Winsomely written and engagingly quirky, these are inventive tales that favour imagination over gritty realism.'[6]
