Narugopal Mandal is an Indian Bengali movie director, screenwriter. He made his debut at the nineteenth Kolkata International Film Festival (2013) with "Megh Bhanga Roddur".
Early life
Narugopal Mandal was born on 25 August 1975 at Agarpara in East Midnapore, West Bengal. His parents are Shyam Sundar Mandal and Late Lata Rani Mandal. He was a student of Vidyasagar University, from where he completed his Bachelor of Arts degree. He was influenced by his parents and some remarkable people and chose a life as a director in Bengali Film Industry.
Career
Narugopal Mandal began his career in the film industry by directing short films, music videos, Documentaries.
Mandal's journey as a director came into focus with his debut film "Megh Banga Roddur". It was screened at the 19th Kolkata International Film Festival in 2013 and Mandal won considerable accolades for directing. He also directed Akash Akhono Nil, The Nagorik, Secret of Love Story, Barude Fuler Gandho[1], Nosto Purush, Chena Premer Golpo, Past Present Future, Sap-Ludo, Ektu Bhalobasar Janno, Nacho To Dekhi, Chawa Pawa and so on. He has also worked in Hindi and Bhojpuri Film Industries and directed several films, e.g., Aanchal Pe Aa, Doli Uthe Se Pahele, Yaadein and so on. He has also worked with several prominent figures of the entertainment world like Soumitra Chatterjee, Rakesh Bedi, Gita Dey, Dipankar Dey, Biswajit Chakraborty, George Baker and so on. He has established Sri Sri Om Narasingha Jue Production and currently runs his production under this name.
