Natalia Larissa Ladyko is an Australian actor and makeup artist who is known for her roles in Home & Away, Catching Milat and Ready For This, and feature films: Me & My Left Brain and Bloodshot Heart. Natalia's makeup career has included commercial work, film and Australian Television: The Letdown and Frayed (seasons 1 & 2).

Early Life[edit]

Natalia was born in Brisbane and began her acting journey young with dance lessons and performing on stage with the Australian Acting Academy. During schooling years, Natalia performed in youth theatre groups and was an avid dancer often performing in local dance competitions. She went on to to graduate with distinction from The Queensland University of Technology in Drama. After graduating, Natalia received her first grant, of which she produced and choreographed her first theatre production at The Judith Wright Contemporary Arts Centre. With a background in dance, Natalia is a highly skilled physical theatre performer who as trained with Zen Zen Zo, Siti Company. After graduating university, Natalia relocated to Sydney. Natalia is of Ukrainian and Belarusian decent.

From clowning to stilt-walking, puppeteering to butoh, Natalia has a very diverse training and professional history.

Career[edit]

Upon moving to Sydney, Natalia was movement director of a youth theatre show where she met the directors of internationally renown puppetry and physical theatre company, Erth Physical Inc. This encounter saw Natalia become a core performer for eight years, and toured nationally as well as Singapore and Istanbul. Natalia hit the ground running in the theatre scene of Sydney where she played co-role of Queen Christina with Viva Bianca in the Swedish play Queen C at the Belvoir Theatre. Natalia continued to create her own work, excepting a creative internship with physical theatre company, Legs On The Wall in 2007. Natalia also graced the stage in Australian Awgie-winning play: A Violent Outburst That Drew Me To You, performed at the Griffin Theatre. Other theatre roles including: Macondo's Clothesline, Black Crows Invade Our Country and She Only Cries At Night (Living Room Theatre).

Dance and movement being a strong passion has lead Natalia into positions of movement director and choreographer for television commercials, theatre and the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras.

Stepping from stage to set Natalia has landed roles in Australian productions: The Secret She Keeps S2, Play School, Catching Milat, Ready For This, Home & Away, Brock and Secret Daughter. Moving from the small screen to the large, Natalia also landed roles in Australian independent films: Me & My Left Brain and Bloodshot Heart.

Natalia won Best Actress for her role in Paradox at the 2020 Frostbite Film Festival.

Natalia has since gone on to write and produce her own work. This includes short films: Not There (in Ukrainian) and Dance With me, directed by Conrad Coleby. Her web-series, Bad Maid, was finalist in the Gold Coast Film Festival in 2021.

As she continues to create her own work, Natalia is stepping into the shoes of director.

MakeUp[edit]

Natalia is also a highly skilled makeup artist and special fx makeup artist. Natalia's work has included Makeup Designer for Australian feature film, Mother Mountain directed by Celina Stang. Key Hair & Makeup for Disney's The Last Days Of The Space Age. Natalia has also been in the makeup team for Australian TV shows; Frayed and The Let Down. Additional makeup credit's includes Operation Buffalo, Dark Whispers Volume 1, Lambs of God (prosthetics), and Here Come The Habibs! Natalia's work can also be seen in advertising and commercials. As hair stylist, her work was published in Bella magazine.
