Nika Goltz (1925-2012) was a Russian children's illustrator. A graduate of Moscow State Academy Art Lyceum and Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture (at that time the V. Surikov Institute), Goltz was known for her versatility with materials, technical skill and love of classic children's literature. Goltz had a particular affinity for Hans Christian Andersen, and illustrated more than 25 of his fairy tales during her lifetime.[1] In a career spanning more than five decades, Glotz illustrated more than 100 books. She won numerous illustration awards including the IBBY Award, Hans Christian Andersen Award and the Honored Artist of Russia Award.
