National & Capital (N&C) was a UK-based mortgage broker that specialised in the placement of prime, buy to let and non-conforming mortgages. It was established in 1999 as Fasttrack Finance but later changed its name to Essex & Capital Mortgage Corporation Ltd. In 2005, Bear Stearns acquired Essex & Capital as part of the acquisition of ICMG and rebranded it as National & Capital Mortgage Corporation.[1][2][3] In 2006, National & Capital was returned to founders Ray Bohringer and Chris Gardener.[4] National & Capital ceased trading in 2010.
