The National Accreditation Board for Certification Bodies (NABCB) assess the competence of conformity assessment bodies that provide certification, inspection, validation and verification services.[1][2][3][4][5] Its evaluation is based on Board’s criteria and in accordance with International Standards and Guidelines.[6][7] [8]It follows the ISO/IEC 17011:2017[9][10] guidelines for accreditation.
NABCB is a part of the international structure of certification and inspection bodies. It is a member of International Accreditation Forum (IAF),[11] International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC)[12] & Asia Pacific Accreditation Cooperation (APAC).[13] It is signatory to their Multilateral / Mutual Recognition Arrangements (MLAs / MRAs) for various schemes.[14][15]
NABCB is a constituent board of Quality Council of India which is an autonomous body setup under Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India.[16][17][18]
