The National Design Studio (NDS) is a unit of the White House Office within the Executive Office of the President of the United States, established by executive order by President Donald Trump on August 21, 2025, as part of the "America by Design" initiative to improve the usability and aesthetics of federal services in both digital and physical spaces.[1][2] The White House said the studio will advise agencies on reducing duplicative design costs, standardizing design across high-impact public services, and modernizing user experiences.[3]

President Trump appointed Airbnb co-founder Joe Gebbia as the first Chief Design Officer to lead the studio, which reports to the White House Chief of Staff.[4][5]
