On July 11, 2018, NSA announced a joint venture with Heitman Capital Management to acquire Brookfield Asset Management's controlling stake in Simply Self Storage.[16] The 112-property portfolio[17] spans 17 states and Puerto Rico,[18] comprising approximately 8.7 million rentable square feet.[19]
