Nazarenko Volodymyr Mykhailovych (Russian: Назаренко Владимир Михайлович, Ukranian: Назаренко Володимир Михайлович) (March 12,1938, Bilokorovychi, Zhytomyr Oblast, USSR — August 1,2013, Kryvyi Rih, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, Ukraine) was a Soviet and Ukrainian scientist, inventor, Doctor of Technical Sciences (1990), Professor (1992), academic secretary, academician of International Academy of Computer Sciences and Systems (1994), Chairman of the Specialized Academic Council for the Defense of Doctorate Theses at Kryvyi Rih National University.

Scientific research[edit]

Volodymyr Nazarenko was a founder and editor-in-chief of the Academic Bulletin scientific journal.

He was an author of 523 scientific papers, 152 copyright certificates and patents, 7 manuals, and monographs. Under his scientific supervision, two doctoral and 21 candidate theses were defended.[1]

His first scientific research was related to hoisting automation in mining. Volodymyr Nazarenko developed an automated hoisting control system for deep mining to ensure rational operating modes. His research materials were recorded in the USA data bank. In 1972, he defended his PhD thesis. /Nazarenko V.M. Control systems for heavy multidrive conveyor. Control systems for heavy multidrive conveyor. Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA, — 1978.— p.1/.

His further activities concern the development of automated ore preparation management systems. For the first time, there were simulated operations of crushing-and-sorting, transport, and ore preparation equipment with further development and implementation of systems for diagnosing the loading level of bunkers, crushers, and their unloading slots values. Created automated systems helped simulate traffic flows, estimate quality and producing costs of the industrial product at any point of the manufacturing scheme. The conducted research allowed to create and implement automated work environments for chief specialists of the ore preparation system.

Further research was devoted to automating heavy multi-drive conveyors up to 2 km long and conveyor lines. For the first time in the USSR, under his leadership, a group of over 30 scientists developed and implemented automated control systems for transport and belt tension speed. The producing cost on transportation was halved. The systems helped reduce dynamic loads on equipment and belts, facilitate the design of the conveyor, increase belt durability by 1.7–2.2 times, reduce energy consumption by 50–60%. These control systems have been repeatedly demonstrated at VDNKh in Moscow and Kyiv.[2]

The know-hows were implemented in projects and equipment produced by leading specialized enterprises:NKMZ, AZOVMASH, Uralmash ( Yekaterinburg) Oleksandriya Electromechanical Plant, RPE Kharkov Electromechanical Plant, Tallinn Electromechanical Plant, Vibropribor Plant (Taganrog).

The focus was on developing integrated systems for production managing at enterprises following closely three main factors: the number of products produced, their quality and producing cost. Volodymyr Nazarenko showed solutions for these scientific questions in his doctoral thesis 1990.

Legacy[edit]

Volodymyr Nazarenko's main achievements in the scientific theoretical and practical field consists of:

  • Development of an automated hoisting system containing friction pulleys without balancing ropes
  • Mathematical description of controlling heavy multi-drum belt conveyors and initializing their mass production
  • Mathematical simulation and development of automated control systems of ore preparation for flexible production
  • Methods development for identification and analysis of technological situations
