Izerskyy Volodymyr [1][2][1](born on April 22, 1969;Ukrainian: Ізерський Володимир Володимирович, Russian: Изерский Владимир Владимирович)Ukrainian SSR, USSR) – Soviet and Ukrainian scientist, specializing in entomology, ecology, and environmental protection. Since the end of 90s, he had been travelling throughout Peru and the Amazon, having participated in many expeditions, the results of which were published in the Atlas for the definition of nocturnal Lepidoptera of 3 families . Due to the need for a constant study of the flora and fauna of the Amazon, since the end of 2007, he has been permanently residing in the Republic of Peru. Since the end of 2017, he has been in charge of scientific research at the Department of Conservation Areas (SERNANP) of the Ministry of the Environment in Central Peru.

Biography[edit]

Vladimir Izerskiy had been deeply into science since his school years, and at that time he often won prizes at various conferences. From the age of 13, he was a candidate and then a full member of the Minor Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

The future scientist graduated from Tomsk State Pedagogical University with majors: biologist-chemist, environmental protection. Also, he graduated from Tomsk State University with majors: systematic entomologist and human genetics.

In order to improve the level of education, he was trained, and then received the degree in Senior Management Operation at the Presidential Academy of Personnel Management. Later, through the International Coordinating Council of Graduates of Educational Institutions “INCORVUZ” he received the Master's Degree in Pedagogical Sciences.

While studying at the University, he was a member of a group of scientific employees at the Scientific Research Institute of Biology and Biophysics (SRIBB, Tomsk) and took part in specialized expeditions to the Far East of Russia. Together with leading BPI specialists (Biology and Soil Institute, Vladivostok), SRIBB (Scientific Research Institute of Biology and Biophysics, Tomsk), Khabarovsk Institute of Water and Ecological Problems (Khabarovsk), ISE (Institute of Systematics and Ecology of the Siberian branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Novosibirsk), for the period from 1986 to 1995, Vladimir Vladimirovich had made more than 20 expedition trips to Mongolia, Northern China, Eastern Siberia, Altai, Northern and Eastern Kazakhstan, the Caucasus, the Carpathians and the Crimea. For 5 years, the scientist had participated in many speleological expeditions to the mountain ranges of the Carpathians and Crimea, where he received one of the highest qualification categories.

s a result of these studies, between 1996 and 1999, a number of articles on fauna and ecology were published, as well as the book “Brachmaeidae lepidopterous insects of Siberia and the Far East ”. From 1996 to 1998 he was the President of the International Foundation “Promoting the development of science and introduction of environmental progressive technologies in Ukraine”

Since May 2018 he has become the President of the International Association of NGO “ACRENAP”[3]

In 2013 As a writer and director, he participated in the creation of a documentary film about the insects of the Amazon, " Kings of Nature. Amazing Insects of the Amazon" (original -Kings of Nature. Amazing insects of Amazonia), in two languages (es. - en.)

In 2020 As a screenwriter and director, he participated in the creation of a short documentary film in three languages (en. — es. — en.) about the AVIRERI VRAEM Biosphere Reserve and the importance of the work of such biosphere reserves under the UNESCO program for the conservation and development of natural resources.[4]

Izerskiy is the author of scientific, popular scientific, and ecological articles, 7 books on the flora and fauna of the Eastern Palearctic, northern Laos and Peru. Also his scientific contribution includes the discovery of 2 species of invertebrates new for science and the conduction of 3 specialized reports at international conferences.
