Neopets: Codestone Quest is a Neopets match-three video game. It is developed and published by MumboJumbo. [1]
Plot
The player, who can choose to be a Blumaroo or Kacheek,[2] starts a quest to find Codestones, items that allow a powerful spell to be used. [2] A Lupe named Balthazar forms a team with a mysterious person and goes on a quest to capture as many Faeries as possible using a magic charm. The faeries offer help in finding the Codestones in exchange for being freed from Balthazar.[3]
Gameplay
Faeries are trapped in different colored magical bottles, and the player must shoot matching colored bottles at them to create a row of three or more bottles of the same color, which causes them to break, before they reach the end of the path that they move on.[3] Players can choose one of three colors of bottle available to launch manually. Bottles are launched from a launcher that can be moved left and right at the bottom of the screen. Dubloons can be acquired during gameplay and used to purchase Petpet power-ups after a level is complete. Up to five Petpets can be stockpiled, and each Petpet, when used, gives a different boost. [3] For example, a Snowsickle will freeze all bottles on screen, while a Baby Fireball will destroy a certain number of bottles at once.[3] In addition, magic power-ups can be acquired during gameplay by matching colored bottles in a set order. For example, completing two yellow matches in a row will destroy all of a certain colored bottle on screen.
