NetBeez, Inc. is a network monitoring company headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
History[edit]
NetBeez was founded in 2013 at the Pittsburgh-based startup accelerator AlphaLab by Stefano Gridelli, Panickos Neophytou, and Panos Vouzis..[1][2]. The company received a little more than $1M in funding from investors such as Carnegie Mellon University, Innovation Works, Partech, and Y Combinator[3].
Technology[edit]
The NetBeez platform relies on standalone server, which can be installed on-premises or in the cloud, and a set of distributed agents that can be installed on traditional enterprise networks, cloud environments, and end-user laptops and desktops. Initially the solution relied on Raspberry Pi single-board computers to run end-to-end network performance tests from remote WAN locations. In 2015, the platform included support for monitoring WLAN networks[4] by using Raspberry Pi equipped with an external 802.11 card. In 2020, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the team released Windows and macOS clients to monitor the performance of work-from-home users[5]
Recognition[edit]
For two consecutive years, in 2017 and 2018, NetBeez was nominated as emerging vendor by CRN[6][7]. In 2017, the company received the "2017 Best of Interop ITX" award for the Cloud category[8]
