NetEnt AB, previously Net Entertainment NE AB, is a supplier of online casino software and games. It is licensed and regulated by the UK Gambling Commission. The company is listed on Stockholm Stock Exchange (NASDAQ Stockholm).

The company was born in 1996, out of Scandinavia’s land based operator known as Cherry.[4] Following the slot machines ban in Sweden, Pontus Lindwall started Net Entertainment and convinced Cherry and Kinnevik to invest in the company. The two companies invested 75 million SEK and took part in building a successful online gaming software supplier.
In 2000, Cherry acquired Kinnevik’s part of NetEntertainment by making Kinnevik the biggest Shareholder in Cherry.[5]
In 2002, NetEntertaiment sold the first CasinoModule to Expekt Casino.
In 2005, Cherry announced its division into three parts: Betsson, Cherry, and NetEntertainment.
In 2011, NetEnt launched its first mobile game.
In 2013, NetEnt’s Cash module proceeded 12 300 000 000 transactions and its market share of the European online casino market was approximately 31%.
In 2015, NetEnt games[6] are available world-wide, in over 90 online casinos.

NetEnt’s headquarters is in Stockholm, Sweden, however, the company has an international presence with operations in Malta, Ukraine, and Gibraltar as well. There are over 500 employees.
