Neurococi is an Romanian news satire organization that publishes articles on international, national, and local news. Based in Hunedoara, Romania, the website carries articles that may cover current events, both real and fictional, satirizing the tone and format of traditional news organizations with stories, editorials and Vox populi interviews using a traditional news website layout. The publication has the funniest articles[1] acording to Agerpres the oldest Romanian news agency. Their popular articles are also available[2] on Google News.
History[edit]
The articles of Neurococi mostly revolve around the coverage of real or imaginary events in a satirical and offbeat way, taking again most of the press codes. Neurococi appeared first an element on Facebook that began during the 2017 Romanian Parliament Elections, before being transformed to becoming a website. Since then, many of its articles were relayed in the press. Its name came from mixing Neuron with the bacteria-related suffix coccus and they claim that only holy water can kill them.[3]
