New Heights is a family-run business specialising in wholesale distribution of outdoor sporting products in the United Kingdom and Ireland, as well as providing services as a sales agency[1][2] in the same field.
Based in Bonnybridge, Falkirk, Scotland[3] the company boasts a team with over 30 years[4] of experience in the outdoor industry led by the owner, the 5th Scotsman to summit Mt.Everest,[5][6][7][8] Kieron MacKenzie.
New Heights shares links to accomplished mountaineer Simon Yates; who, while most widely known for his role in Joe Simpson's biographical novel - "Touching The Void", serves as one of the company's "brand ambassadors".[9]
Founded in August 2014,[10] New Heights is a member of the Outdoor Industry Association[11] and the Federation of Small Businesses.[12]
In 2016, they announced that they had secured ownership of Ultimate Equipment, becoming the parent company behind the brand.[13] Ultimate Equipment was an early forerunner in tent, sleeping bag and apparel manufacturing circa 1980[14] within the UK market. Before New Heights took ownership, Ultimate Equipment was perhaps best known for producing the Peapod, which was a 2-pole tunnel tent that is still favourably commented upon in a number of outdoor forums.[15][16]
