Biography[edit]

Meglinski was born in SaratovRussia in 1995. At the age of three, he moved with his family to England. His first football team was Milton-Keynes Wanderers FC competing in Bedfordshire County Football League. Meglinski spent over 10 years in England before relocating to New Zealand, after his father was invited to teach at the University of Otago[1].

In New Zealand, Meglinski made a debut as a youth player at Dunedin Technical in 2009. He represented New Zealand twice in SuperCupNI, an international youth soccer tournament held in Northern Ireland (formely called Milk Cup), in 2011 [2]and 2012 [3]. From 2011 he played for Southern United FC Youth team competing in New Zealand Football Championship, the top association football division in New Zealand (ISPS Handa Premiership, formely ASB Premiership). Meglinski grabbed headlines when his 12th minute goal[4] against Nelson Falcons took his team into the semi-finals. In 2014 he became the youngest player selected to Southern United senior side [5], making three appearances in 2014-2015. In 2015, Meglinski captained Green Island FC playing in FootballSouth Premier League of New Zealand[6].

At the end of 2015, family moved to Finland and on January 1, 2016 Meglinski signed a contract with Oulun Palloseura (OPS) Template:Нп5. After only one season with OPS they gained promotion to Ykkönen, the second highest division of the Finnish football system, after being crowned the champions of their league. At the end of the season Meglinski became a free agent, and in August 2017 he was signed up by Peimari United.

His father Igor Vladislavovich Meglinski, Professor of Laser Physics (Biophotonics) is affiliated with a number of world-leading universities. Mother works in the School of Business.[1]
