Nikolaus Haas (born September 29, 1964 in Mannheim, Germany) is a pediatrician, pediatric cardiologist and specialist in congenital heart defect as well as pediatric intensive care, adults with congenital heart defects (CHD) and treatments of heart disease by means of cardiac catheter interventions (interventional pediatric cardiology).

Haas studied medicine in Heidelberg, Mannheim and Los Angeles (UCLA) from 1984 and then began training as a pediatrician at the University Children's Hospital in Mannheim. He was Director of the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at Prince Charles Hospital in Brisbane and Associate Professor at the University of Queensland between 2002 and 2006. From 2006 to 2015, he was head of the cardiac catheterization laboratory at the Heart and Diabetes Center in Bad Oeynhausen, where he also completed his habilitation at Ruhr University Bochum.[1] At the end of 2015, he was appointed professor at Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich.[2] Since 2015, he has been chief physician at Klinikum Großhadern Munich (KUM).[3] He is also head of the Department of Pediatric Cardiology and Pediatric Intensive Care Medicine at LMU in Großhadern and at Dr. von Hauner Children's Hospital.[4][5]

Haas is an editor and author for scientific essays, textbooks and books, and has participated in several trials. He is also involved internationally with education and training in cardiac catheterization techniques and pediatric intensive care.[6]
