Noah Finn Adams (born 18 August 1999)...[1], known professionally as Noahfinnce (stylised NOAHFINNCE) is a singer, songwriter and YouTuber from Berkshire, United Kingdom. Noah began his career on YouTube uploading covers to YouTube, but later, after coming out as transgender[2] and bisexual[3], began making videos on LGBTQ+ issues, and other commentary-style videos. He has over 290 videos, over 748k subscribers, and over 62.1 million total views.[4] On YouTube, he has collaborated with several other YouTubers, including: Evan Edinger[5], Jammidodger[6], and notcorry[7].

Alongside his YouTube career, Noah is signed to Hopeless Records[8], under whom he has released EP Stuff from My Brain (2021), and singles— LIFE'S A BIT (2020), STUPID (2021), MIND BLANK NO THOUGHTS (2021), KICKIN TRASH (2021) and WORMS (In My Brain) (2022). He also released a cover of parents (2019) by YUNGBLUD in 2021, with American rock band, Doll Skin[9]. Prior to being signed by Hopeless Records, he released single Asthma Attack (2018) under DistroKid[10], and Underachiever (2020) under The Orchard Enterprises[11].

Early life and education[edit]

Noah was born to mother Karen Adams[12], and father Gary[1], in Berkshire, United Kingdom. He also has a brother called Zach.

Growing up, Noah often wore boys clothes, and dressed as Spider-Man frequently, both things that his mother said caused her to reflect and realize that Noah was "really trans"[13]. She even recalled Noah getting upset over being forced to wear "girls jeans" and only going shopping in the "boys section" of clothing stores[13]. She also said that despite him being closeted, "of course" she always knew that he was transgender[13].

For his secondary education, Noah attended a naval boarding school where he boarded part-time on a sports scholarship. He recalls disliking his time in boarding school, and said that for the fees he paid, the experience, exam results, and quality of living was not worth it[14]. Noah was not out as transgender while at boarding school, he claims that if he came out it would have been "disasterous"[14], due to the lack of understanding surrounding LGBTQ+ issues in the school. He said that being LGBTQ+ in boarding school was difficult, and those that were out as LGBTQ+ were outed, and did not come out on their own. Noah claims that his school "was not a healthy place to be" for teenagers confused about their sexuality or gender identity[14].

Personal life[edit]

Noah is currently in a relationship with Scottish YouTuber, Corry Norris, also known as notcorry, who he lives with.

In 2017, Noah came out as transgender to his YouTube audience[2] in a video – he has since reacted to this video and claimed that his coming out video was "awkward, cringe, and way too personal"[15]. After coming out, Noah documented his journey of starting testosterone[16], which marked the beginning of his videos about LGBTQ+ issues, although he has said that he does not like being called a "trans YouTuber", as his content is not defined by his identity as a transgender man[1][17]. In January 2019, Noah had top surgery[18].

In 2020, Noah began questioning whether he was bisexual, and not simply gay[19], and in a video in 2022, he finally confirmed that he is bisexual[3]; he claims that the process of realizing his sexuality was difficult due to his gender dysphoria that he suffers from[20]

In 2021, at age 21, Noah got diagnosed with ADHD, and now takes Ritalin to manage his symptoms.[21]. He says that since he was a child he believed he was ADHD, and that because his brother had an ADHD diagnosis, he made the assumption that he too had it, but without an official diagnosis he didn't feel comfortable telling people. He decided that he wanted to pursue a diagnosis after realizing that his specific struggles weren't simply manifestations of his depression[21]. He has also discussed that he has looked into whether he is autistic, but has said anything publicly about pursuing this as a diagnosis at this point in time[21]

Noah is also lactose intolerant, and takes lactase tablets, which have helped him manage his digestive issues when consuming dairy products with lactose in them[22].

Music Career[edit]

YouTube covers[edit]

Noah began his career on YouTube where he began uploading videos under the name "Noah" while still in secondary school[14]. His earliest video on his main channel used today is titled Welcome to the black parade (guitar solo) - My Chemical Romance[23], which was uploaded in December 2015. After this video, he began uploading music covers from 2016 on-wards.

When starting testosterone, Noah voiced concerns about the unpredictability of what would happen to his singing voice, and how starting testosterone would effect his music career[24], however he continued to sing, and has subsequently uploaded YouTube videos comparing his singing voice before starting testosterone, and after his voice began to drop[25][26][27]

Singles[edit]

In December 2018, Noah released his first single, original song Asthma Attack (2018)[28]. He recorded it prior to his voice breaking, and wrote it in 2015[27]. It was written about his struggles with mental health, gender dysphoria, and fear of coming out as transgender, however says that the song is not solely about being transgender[29]. In January 2020, Noah uploaded a YouTube video singing the song after his voice broke, and says that he prefers the song with his voice previous to testosterone, as it was written for that voice[27].

In June 2020, Noah released single, Underachiever (2020)[30]. The official music video for this song featured his boyfriend, Corry, was directed by Luke Cutforth, and filmed by Evan Edinger[30].

In November 2020, Noah released his third single, LIFE'S A BIT (2020)[31]. He explains that the song is about "life beating you up", and his inability to understand his emotions, going onto say that the song is "undiagnosed ADHD personified"[32].

In March 2021, Noah released his fourth single, STUPID (2021)[33], which was written about his boyfriend, Corry[34].

In July 2021, Noah released his fifth single, MIND BLANK NO THOUGHTS (2021)[35]. The track features more aggressive sounding vocals, and discusses themes of mental health and stress[36]

In August 2021, Noah released a fourth single [(KICKIN TRASH (2021)| KICKIN TRASH (2021) ]][37]. In a now-unlisted video uploaded prior to the release of the song, Noah discussed the meaning of the lyrics:

"The song is pretty much about being fed up of everything, it’s about being really frustrated and like you feel like you’re locked inside your own head, which is, uh, definitely a vibe when it comes to lockdown. I wrote it during lockdown – I was very fed up."[37][38].

In December 2021, Noah collaborated with singer Sophie Powers, on single Clearview (2021). In January 2022, Noah released a new single, WORMS (In My Brain) (2022). Noah discussed the meaning of the song in a now-deleted video announcing the song, where he said the following:

"Pretty much, WORMS [In My Brain] is about my first therapy appointment, and I kinda used worms as a metaphor for trauma... I had a very tough time growing up... just think of something bad, and it probably happened in my family. Anyway, last year I had my first flashback and it made me realize that the things that happened to me when I was 11 were still affecting me when I was 21!"[39]

EP's[edit]

In September 2021, Noah released his debut EP, STUFF FROM MY BRAIN (2021). The EP featured previously released songs: LIFE'S A BIT (2021), STUPID (2021), MIND BLANK NO THOUGHTS (2021), and KICKIN TRASH (2021), as well as two new songs: PITY (2021) and WEIRDOS (2021).
