After a four year hiatus, as of October 16, 2022, the organization's website boasts their all virtual noir convention that took place between October 21-23rd 2022.[1]

History[edit]

NoirCon began in Philadelphia, PA in 2007 as GoodisCon, an event dedicated to the life and work of Philly’s hometown noir hero, David Goodis. While still retaining its focus on Goodis, NoirCon expanded its horizons to encompass all aspects of the noir genre with an emphasis on literary and cinematic works. The organization was founded by Deen Kogan[2] and Louis Boxer and they became the organization's first co-presidents. After notable deaths in the organization including Kogan's death in 2018,[3] NoirCon went on hiatus, returning with a full convention in 2022.
