Nortec Software Inc. Certifications[edit]
On October 1, 2010, Nortec EHR 7.0 was awarded distinction as an ONC-ATCB 2011/2012 Certified COMPLETE EHR by CCHIT, which certifies that the EHR is capable of meeting the 2011/2012 criteria supporting Stage 1 meaningful use, as approved by the Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS). Certification is required to qualify eligible providers and hospitals for funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).[4]
As of May 12, 2010, Nortec EHR v7.0 received designations as a CCHIT Certified 2011 Ambulatory EHR,[5][6] a Preliminary ARRA IFR Stage 1 certified EHR[7] and a recipient of a five-star usability rating.[6][8][5][9]
The CCHIT certification program provides approval for EHR products. Providers stand to receive up to $44,000 from the US government for implementing an EHR system.[10][11][12]
Nortec Software received certification from Surescripts for its e-prescription application, Nortec eprescribe v1.1, enabling it to provide e-prescrtiption solutions to EHR (Electronic Healthcare Records). Nortec eprescribe v1.1 received certification for Eligibility/Formulary, Reporting, Rx History, New Rx (Retail Pharmacy) and Rx Renewal (Retail Pharmacy).[13]
Initiatives[edit]
In October 2011, Nortec announced a partnership with North Shore Medical Labs, a member of a pilot consortium headed by the Department of Health and Human Service's Office Of Minority Health, which includes American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) to proliferate the use of electronic health records (EHRs) and reduce health disparities affecting minorities.[14][verification needed]
