The thirteenth season of Nostalgia Critic began on January 1, 2020 with Doug Walker's review of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.[4] At the end of the editorial "Should We Stop Method Acting", Doug Walker announced March will be Spider-Man month, where he discusses the Spider-Man film series, specifically the Sam Raimi trilogy (2002–2007) and the Marc Webb duology (2012–2014). On December 1, 2020, NC continued his DisneyCember tradition where he gives a mini-review (5–10 minutes) of a Disney-owned film and television show every day of December. 482 | "Superman Returns" | Doug Walker, Malcolm Ray, Tamara Chambers | Doug Walker | Doug Walker | June 10, 2020
The Critic reviews Superman Returns (2006). While noting this film had good intentions all the way and had several interesting ideas, he feels that the film ultimately doesn't succeed in following through with those ideas and the ideas themselves were executed in a less-than-stellar manner. He also criticizes the film's similarities to the original Superman film, Lois Lane's more subdued character compared to the original, the action sequences not containing any fight scenes, the plot point involving Superman staying out of Metropolis for five years, and lack of screen time and development for the characters of Richard White and Jason, the son of Lois and Superman. Special criticism is reserved for the film's runtime, which leads to many action sequences being shown in dozens of minutes. First Viewing:

488 | "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" | Doug Walker | Doug Walker | Doug Walker | July 22, 2020
The Critic reviews The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1996). Having praised this film many times in the past as one of his favorite Disney films, he continues to praise it as one of Disney's darkest and riskiest features, praising the characters (especially Judge Claude Frollo), the animation, the darker tone and themes, and the music and songs (especially "Hellfire"). However, he does note the changes made from the original book which results in some fast-paced, jumbled moments, and mainly gives criticism to the film's comedic moments, especially the characters of the gargoyles (though he isn't as hard on them as he was originally, giving credit to the voice acting, the names, one funny gag with them in the climax, and the open interpretation that they could be in Quasimodo's imagination).
