The COVID-19 protests and riots in Netherlands are against the new restrictions on the coronavirus that are centered in Rotterdam. 3 protestors were seriously injured and were hospitalized when authorities opened fire on them.

In Rotterdam, 51 people were arrested, while in Limburg province, there were 13 arrests, 8 arrests in Urk, and 19 arrests in The Hague. Riots also in Enschede, Leeuwarden and Tilburg, according to local media. The Dutch authorities used water cannons, dogs and mounted police to stop the rioting youth who set fires and threw stones at the officers. The riots were primarily caused by the public reaction to new governmental COVID-19 prevention measures, and rioters consisted of both civilians and members of far-right groups. Three rioters were seriously injured when police opened fire on them, while a fourth suffered minor injuries. Additionally, four rioters and five police officers sustained minor injuries during the unrest. Peaceful protests also took place in Amsterdam and Breda.[3][4] [5][6][7][8][9]
