History
Jasminder Gulati, Neeraj Sabharwal, Nitin Jain and Ronak Kumar Samantray founded NowFloats in May 2012.[3] Their investors are Omidyar Network, Blume Ventures, Iron Pillar, IIFL and Mumbai Angels.[6][7] The company is Series-B funded, having raised $10 million in 2017.[6]
The company was acquired by Reliance Industries through its Reliance Strategic Business Ventures Ltd. subsidiary in December 2019.[8]
Initiatives
In January 2016, NowFloats started "Digital Desh Initiative" which is focused towards bridging the technology divide in India by understanding people’s internet and mobile behaviours. This initiative involves drives across cities, towns, and villages in India, to unearth digital India. As of May 2018, the company published 5 Digital Desh Drive Reports. Their second report, Digital Desh 2.0, was launched in 2016.[9][10]
