Numinousneoism Art
NUMINOUSNEOISM ART is an art style trademarked by the United States Patent and Trademark Office[1] in March 2015. The style was conceived in 2010 by artist John Solomon Sandridge and includes a diverse collection of more than 400 distinct visual elements — paintings, sculptures, and hand written books — infused with Black American heritage and feminine energy principles of warmth, surrender, openness and trust.
The collection made its debut at the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute in Birmingham, AL on exhibit from January to April 2013.[2][3] Arts and Culture Writer Hollie Parrish with Culture Weld for Birmingham described the art as "a little anticlimactic... [an] inspired (rather than created) art [that] is both relatively new and seemingly, highly profound.”[4]
Technical and stylistic aspects[edit]
NUMINOUSNEOISM Art is created using mixed media to evoke sublime imagery through techniques like collage, abstract, paper and fabric. The works are exploratory in imagination and higher consciousness and combines stylistic elements of modern art forms. The preeminent influence for creating NUMINOUSNEOISM ART are George Braque and Pablo Picasso and all previous and future art styles — cubism, expressionism, impressionism, realism, etc.
