Oakland Farms also known as Shipley's Discovery is a historic house located in Cooksville, Maryland in Howard County.[1] [2]The house was built on 250 acres land patented by Robert Shipley in 1726. The "telescoping" house started with a plastered log cabin built about 1730 expanded by George Shipley or Henry Forsythe with a brick addition before the American Revolution. A third addition was built by Judge William Henry Forsythe, Jr around 1830. [3][4]
