Obinna Iyiegbu,(born 12 April 1975) also known as Obi Cubana,[1] is a Nigerian entrepreneur[2][3], and philanthropist who chairs the Obi Cubana group of companies
Early life and family
Obinna Iyiegbu is from Oba, Idemili South, Anambra State, Nigeria. He was born on April 12, 1975, and his mother is Ezinne Iyiegbu.[4]
He later attended University of Nigeria Nsukka where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in 1998. He completed the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program in Abuja, Nigeria in 1999.
Obi Cubana married his wife, Ebele Iyiegbu[5] in 2008 and they are blessed with four children.
Career
Obinna Iyiegbu could not secure a job after completing the National Youth Service Corps[6], he became self-employed as an estate agent,[7] and later started Ibiza Hotel Abuja[8]
Controversy
A lot of reactions[9][10][11][12][13] trailed the funeral of Lady Uche Iyiegbu, mother of Obinna Iyiegbu[14][15] known as Obi Cubana in Anambra State, South-east Nigeria, which generated a lot of buzz on the internet[16], with some people complaining about its lavishness[17][18]. Obi Cubana's source of income has also raised a lot of eyebrows[19][20][21][22][21]
