The Object Cosmos Solar System

Object Cosmos, more commonly known as OC, was an animated YouTube series taking place in space, directed by Epimations and produced by Circle dude236. Its most popular video is "Saturn has the most moons again", with a total of 742,502 views and 7.7K likes.[1] This series is similar to The Planetballs Series, with the charcters having eyes, mouths, and arms. There were some planets made up in these series such as "Sucellus". The series was connected to the "Battle For Dream Island" (BFDI) series. The series was only streamed on youtube and never streamed anywhere else.

Background[edit]

It is not known what Object Cosmos originates from, except that it came from the BFDI series. The series started in 2020 and ended in early 2022, after many children made their own YouTube channels based on OC.

The series was made via Google Slides, using BFDI assets and planet assets, and then recorded with copyrighted music from Starbound and Old Mario and Kirby Games.

Popularity and criticism[edit]

Object Cosmos had a lot of popularity, but also a lot of criticism.

Popularity[edit]

Object Cosmos was and still is a very popular series with many channels such as Enceladus Object Cosmos still posting OC contnet, but the popularity of the series has been declining as the creator of the series canceled the series. Many channels[lower-alpha 1] made custom Object Cosmos channels after OC became really popular.

Criticism[edit]

The series always had criticism from people calling OC, a pedophilia, calling the series cringe, and more. Even with the series ended criticism still continues, as some people still hate the series a lot.

Themes[edit]

A O.C asset of Sedna[2]

When it came to O.C, there was never really one theme except that drama seemed to be one of the main themes of the series. The series did not follow real life information or laws, but rather had its own world such as Saturn having 150+ moons, all of the dwarf planets being planets, planets can get pregnant, and that planets/moons can just move whenever they want. It also is part of the series that Theia was brought back to life, and was put in betweeen Mars and Sucellus.

File:Earth (Red) OC.jpeg
An example of earth turning red by getting mad at venus.[3]

It became part of the series that Saturn renamed herself Juno, and the the Sun is called Solar. In late 2021, the series had made it that Mercury (planet) became the Moon of Venus and renamed himself to Cupid. Juno (aka Saturn) could change colors to show her emotions and so could Earth and Venus because of them being Juno's daughters.[lower-alpha 2]

Once in awhile the series would show BFDI on the surface of earth for a short period of 30 seconds to 2 minutes on average, used to show affects on the earth usally.

The series also included BFDI props which were used in the early series, and some planet's had magical abilities. It became part of the series that things from Starbound would be part of the series, such as weapons, food, music, and more. Object Cosmos rarely had voices; once in a while there would be Starbound or just random anime voice lines, but most talk in the series was through text bubbles, the bubbles were also sometimes used to show tiny animated emotion faces.

Planets haved died in this series such as Hermes[lower-alpha 3], Cybele[lower-alpha 4], and Hephaestus[lower-alpha 5] who got eaten by Solar, but also for other reasons such as CoRoT-7b, Planet X, and K2-141b were killed by Earth, and some planets who were called "counter" such as counter-earth who was evil and was killed by Earth, the counter-planets were always evil and the counter's in the series were killed by Earth and Luna in Guns and Arms Part 3.[4] There are evil Celestial Bodies too which are most of the ones that died, but some still remain such as Tres-2b a evil gas giant and Nemesis a red dwarf who was in a binary system with solar before shot into deep space.
