Obydenna Mariia (b. 1979, Chernihiv, Ukraine) is a writer, author of the book Essay genre. How to write essays on different topics, translator.
Biography[edit]
Mariia Obydenna was born in the small regional city Chernihiv (Ukraine)). She graduated the Chernihiv National Pedagogical University majored in history, English language and literature. She has a Master's degree in English-language Philology graduated from the Kyiv International University.
During the last years of study, she moved to Kyiv.
For 15 years, she has been working as a translator and author.
In Ukraine, Mariia founded the writing studio Ukrainian Essay for beginners.
Writer[edit]
Mariia started writing prose works from childhood. She wrote her first story, albeit quite naive, at the age of nine. It all started with this - from the love of writing and reading. She began to invent her stories. Later, the short stories were joined into the collection In the Forest. In order to help the child feel a real writer, the parents collected her best works and stitched them together as a book. The cover was made of cardboard and decorated with illustrations. This is how the writer's first book appeared. Since childhood, she admired music and playing the piano. She was interested in the history of her native land. While studying at the university, she wrote short stories that were included in the collection The Magic Box.

In 2023, the online course Essays for beginners is based on the book Essay genre. How to write essays on different topics.
The course gives authors the opportunity to master the necessary knowledge and practice writing skills using only a smartphone or tablet.
