Official Association of Professional Table Tennis Athletes of North America
Official Association of Professional Table Tennis Athletes of North America (OAPTTANA) is a non-profit organization, dedicated to organizing and running table tennis tournaments throughout North America. There is at least one club in every state in the U.S., two clubhouses in Canada, and one in Chihuahua, Mexico.[citation needed] The club runs a basic tournament schedule, with the SFBayGames Championship Tournament, in San Francisco, on the third Saturday of November, each year.
To earn a spot in the OAPTTANA, athletes must have declared themselves professional table tennis athletes for at least one year, and be citizens of a North American country. Fifty players are accepted each year. Of these fifty, the top fifteen move on to the SFBayGames Championship Tournament.
Prize money for winning at the SFBayGames Championship Tournament depends on the number of points the Champion has accrued over the season.
