Ofra Cosmetics stylized as OFRA Cosmetics is an International[2] cosmetics and skin care[3] brand based in Pompano Beach, Florida.
Its products are sold in the United States, at Ulta, on their official website, and in various other countries.[4][5] Although the company's founder, Ofra Gaito, and her husband, David Gaito, have been the President and Vice President of the company since it was founded, they stepped down in June 2021 and gave control to their daughter, Carine Trezza.

Ofra Gaito, the founder of OFRA Cosmetics, entered the beauty industry in 1979 and completed several courses with cosmetic brands in Germany, France, and the United States. Gaito also earned her postgraduate, the CIDESCO course in Johannesburg, which is a certification in the field of Esthetics and Beauty Therapy.[6] Throughout the 1980s, Gaito opened her first salons and spas, which lead to her expanding business to include product distribution for European cosmetic companies in South Africa,[7] Australia,[8] and Ukraine.[9] By 1994, Gaito created her own line of skin care and makeup products to sell in the U.S. and in other countries.[10] She relocated to the United States in 1998 to open manufacturing facilities in Pompano Beach.[11]
In 2017, OFRA partnered with Ulta Beauty to offer its products on Ulta's website and in their physical stores.[12] OFRA decided to rebrand the same year, although they did not change any of their formulas.[13]
Social responsibility[edit]
OFRA Cosmetics is certified by PETA[14] and Leaping Bunny[15] as cruelty-free and vegan[16] for their products that are sold both nationally and internationally.[17]The company also does not sell their products in places where animal testing is required.[18]
Controversy[edit]
In June 2021, a photo of David Gaito wearing a "MAGA" hat in support of Donald Trump was found on a personal Instagram account and was brought to light within the online makeup community.[19] The initial scandal of the photo was then compared to the company previously liking posts by the former president on Twitter in 2019.[20] OFRA apologized for the photo and forced the Gaitos from their leadership positions, with their daughter Carina Trezza taking their place as company president and COO.[21] This follows a previous issue in 2017 with Kim Thai, a beauty blogger who is a former partner of the company. Screenshots of an accidental text message from an employee at OFRA were posted on Twitter to back up the allegations of the company acting negatively towards Thai and explain why she immediately ended her collaboration with the brand.[22]
In 2017, OFRA's legal team conducted an investigation into Paris Hilton for similarities that her new products had with their previously released NikkieTutorials collaboration bundle.[23]
