SpaceX Hyperloop Competition (2017)[edit]

In 2015, a small group on the SpaceX subreddit split off to form what is now rLoop, with the goal of crowdsourcing a new pod design for the 2017 SpaceX Hyperloop Competition. The group advanced all the way to ‘Design’ Weekend, where with 123 other teams they competed for the chance to test their designs on the Hyperloop track.[5] In January 2017, the rLoop team was chosen as one of the top 22 finalists to advance; they were only non-student team to do so.[6] In the process, they were given the ‘Pod Innovation’ award.[7]

IoT Evangelism and Work[edit]

Oyinlola is a passionate member of IoT Europe, speaking at IoT World Day about using technology to solve critical challenges in African infrastructure.[2] In 2017, Oyinlola designed a smart meter that would allow 'pay-as-you-go' cooking. This will enable customers to bypass the upfront cost of connecting to a gas utility and pay only for what is used.[8] He was awarded a top three finish in Rwanda’s Best ICT solutions for smart cities competition. In 2018, he was recognized by Avance Media as one of the top 100 most influential young Nigerians for his contributions in Technology.
