Omar Hosari (Arabic: عمر الحصري) is an entrepreneur and businessman. He is the co-owner, co-founder, and CEO of UAS International Trip Support.

Early life and education[edit]

Omar Hosari was born in Damascus, Syria in 1977 in a family which was immersed in the aviation industry. His father was among the first pioneers of business aviation in the Middle East.[1]

Hosari received degrees in economics and aviation from Hult International Business School, and holds an MBA in Business Administration.[2]

Career[edit]

UAS International Trip Support was established in 2000 by Hosari, and three others. UAS has expanded across four continents with ground presence in 31 global destinations.[3][4] In 2016, Hosari took part in negotiations that led to UAS entering a partnership with the Deer Jet aviation group (a subsidiary of the Fortune Global 500 HNA group), to significantly accelerate its growth and expansion plans. With this partnership, UAS became the exclusive air charter manager for the world's only VVIP-configured 787 Dream Liner.[5]

Advisory councils and boards[edit]

In April 2019, Hosari was appointed to the Board of Governors of the Asian Business Aviation Association (AsBAA),[6] Asia's non-profit association for business and general aviation, as their representative on the council of the International Business Aviation Council (IBAC). Hosari is a board member of the International Aviation Services Organization.[7][8]

Philanthropy[edit]

In October 2019, Hosari travelled to Tanzania to climb Mount Kilimanjaro to raise awareness of, and funds for, aviation sustainability. He also donated one US dollar for every meter of the 20,000 ft. (6,096 meter) climbed towards IBAC's aviation sustainability awareness and education programmes.[9][10]

In April 2018, Hosari undertook an expedition in the Himalayas reaching Everest Base Camp at an elevation of 5,400 meters as part of his preparation for a future attempt to conquer the Seven Summits.[11][12]

In 2015 he donated US$20,000 to the Hult scholarship fund.[13]
