Omid Soltani (Persian: امید سلطانی , born July 28, 1964), known better by his stage name Omid (امید), or known as "The Voice", is a popular Iranian singer.[1] Omid has released eight albums and several singles during his music career.[2] Omid is known as one of the Top 10 successful young Superstars in Persian music industry.[3][not in citation given]
Biography[edit]
Early Life[edit]
Omid was born in Aligudarz and raised in Tehran, and began painting, singing and calligraphy in the third grade, becoming involved in art & music. He won several awards in middle school and high school. At 21 years old (1985), he appeared in font of the Iran-Iraq war. Then, he moved in Istanbul, Turkey to pursue his education to be an architect, he was working as a professional singer in famous cabarets in Turkey during his school years.

In 1992, He signed a recording contract with Taraneh Records, and moved to Los Angeles. In 1993, he released his debut album Baran (Rain). His debut single with the same name became popular hit at that time and it came into success. After his successful debut album, he released his 2nd album namely "Har Do Ashegh" (Both In Love) in 1995. In 1996, he signed a recording contract with Caltex Records and worked with Three Albums namely "Hazrate Eshgh" (His Love) in 1996, "Parsehaye Asheghaneh" (Romantic Mooning) in 1997, and "Sarboland" (Proud) in 1999. Some songs became popular like "Mahtab" (Moonlight) and "Doostam Nadashti" (Don't Love Me) in "Har Do Ashegh", "Tekieh Gah" in "Hazrate Eshgh", "Yasameen" and "Farmane Eshgh" (The Command Of Love) in "Parsehaye Asheghane", and "Shekastani" (Breakable) in "Sarboland".
Immigration to Israel[edit]
Due to his period in America was forced to leave the country and immigrate to Israel. He participated in the Israeli art scene, hoping to get away from the harsh retribution.
Returning To America[edit]
After a few years away, he returned to America and resumed his activities. In 2002, he signed a recording contract with Avang Music and released his 6th Album "Victory (Piroozi)". Some songs in the album like "To Mahshari (I'm Cool)", "Gole Royaee (Dream Flower)", and "Dooset Daram (I Love You)" became popular during at that time.
In 2006, his released his 7th album named "Entezaar"( Fall) and in 2010, he released his 8th album named "Shabe Milad" (Overnight).
Working Up With Singles[edit]
Since 2010, he worked up with singles like "Sarzamine Madari" (Motherland), "Mano Khode Man" (My Own Menu), "Negahe Aval" (First Look), "Ghermez" (Red), "Khaneye Bi Saghf" (Home Without a Roof), and his latest single "Khosh Ghadam" (Welcome Step).
Collaboration with Leila Forouhar, Mohammad Moghaddam and Thomas Anders[edit]
In 2007, he collaborated with fellow persian singer Leila Forouhar in the song "Iran, Iran" produced and released by Tapesh Records.
In 2010, he collaborated with singer/songwriter Mohammad Moghaddam in the song "I Have A Dream (Roya)". The song is about having a dream to have a peaceful and war-free world.
In 2013, he collaborated with former Modern Talking and german singer Thomas Anders in the song "We Are One". [4] The song was accordingly composed half-English and half-Farsi. The song was also filmed a clip that renders the meaning of the text. The song was produced by Farhad Zand and released under Sony Music, Warner Music, and KING Records.

Concert at the Universal Amphitheatre[edit]
In 2004, Omid performed at the Universal Amphitheatre. He performed several songs including some of his greatest hits like Baran, Doostam Nadashti, Tekieh Gah, Yasameen, Shekastani, Dooset Daram, and more. Having one of the most successful concerts/sold-out concerts in his career. An album was also made and released in 2008 under Avang Music. The songs in the said album was remasterised by Avang before the Release.
In 2010, he came back to perform at the formerly named Universal Amphitheatre,now Gibson Amphitheatre . Making a another sold-out concert and repeated his concert success.

Charity Works[edit]
Omid means hope; he cares about people and helps them on daily basis. Omid is working on his new foundation to provide education for children living in poverty. He has performed in several charity events to raise money for kids, he has worked with Cardio Star Foundation to cover the cost of 12 successful heart operations.
