Omjee Group is an Indian film production and distribution company founded in the year 2007 after the name of Late Sh. Om Sahni..[1] Since its inception, they have distributed more than 350 films in Indian and International markets under the ownership of Mr. Munish Sahni[2].

It is a pioneer name in Punjabi film industry and have been a part of more than 125 Punjabi Films in terms of Producer, Co-Producer, Project designer and Film Distributor[3]

2007-2017[edit]

The company’s distribution journey started with 2007’s Bollywood Blockbuster, Om Shanti Om starring Shahrukh Khan and Deepika Padukone. They distributed the movie in Punjab, Haryana, Himachal, J&K and Chandigarh making it the widest release ever for a Shahrukh Khan starrer film. They have also released Hindi films like Billu, London Dreams, Kismat Konnection, Azhar, Rustom, Madaari, Kahaani 2, Shivaay and Hollywood films like Furious 7, Seventh Son, Kung Fu Killer, Transporter, The Fate of the Furious, etc.

In the year 2013, they stepped in the Punjabi Film Industry by distributing Naughty Jatts which became a huge box office success. The winning streak was continued by distributing a number of films in upcoming years like Angrej, Rupinder Gandhi – The Gangster..?, Ardaas, Love Punjab, Bambukat, Nikka Zaildar, Lahoriye, Vekh Baraatan Challiyan, Rupinder Gandhi 2, Laavan Phere, Sajjan Singh Rangroot, Vadhaiyaan Ji Vadhaiyaan, Dakuan Da Munda, Uda Aida, Shadaa, Ardaas Karaan, etc.[4]

2018-Present[edit]

Omjee Group stepped into the segment of Film Production in 2018 with Vijay Kumar Arora’s Harjeeta starring Ammy Virk and Pankaj Tripathi. The film received a great critical appreciation and also won the title of Best Punjabi Film at 66th National Awards.[5]

Other produced and co-produced movies include Rabb da Radio series, Ashke, Golak Bugni Bank te Batua, Bhajjo Veero Ve, Dil Diyan Gallan, Jinde Meriye, Zakhmi and Chal Mera Putt series.
