Onima Kashyap ( born 24 feb 1995 ) well known for her coca cola hoardings all over india, is an Indian actor and a professional painter. She has predominantly worked in lot of TV commercials and has been the face of known brands and later made her film debut with Mollywood film Maniyarayille Ashokan. She has now made her digital debut opposite to zakir khan in “ Chacha Vidhayak Hain Humare” season 2 on amazon prime.
Onima kashyap graduated from university of delhi and is a trained theatre actor. She has also worked as a fashion designer with leading designers of india – rina Dhaka, Namrata joshipura and Rahul Mishra. But her passion for acting made her move to Mumbai when she got her first tv commercial. One of her popular projects includes magicbricks commercial with actor Iqbal khan. She has worked with Amitabh Bachchan, Amir Khan, Shahrukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Virat Kohli, Kareena Kapoor, Vivek Oberio and Rajkumar Rao. She has also featured in the music video ‘Sang Hoon Tere’ with Bhuvan Bam and music trilogy with Salim Sulaiman.
EARLY LIFE[edit]
Onima was born in Gurugram (Haryana). She finished her schooling from D.A.V public school and graduated in bachelor of business administration from university of delhi and post graduation in fashion designing from pearl academy of fashion, hail from a Punjabi family. At the age of 2 her mother signed her up for drawing classes. Until the age of 18 she received many awards for her paintings in school. In Delhi, kashyap took on a few modelling assignments, but generally disliked the career as she found "no scope for creativity". she decided to shift focus towards acting and joined the Asmita Theatre Group. She participated in their theatre workshop at mandi house and acted in several street plays.
CAREER[edit]
As a child, she was involved in a lots of activities like painting, music and dance. She loved performing on stage and took part in various competitions and received awards for that. Being the face of Coca Cola on a million hoardings, the actor is also a gifted artist and has several experimental paintings to her credit. Onima started her career with fashion designing and worked with several leading designers. She started portraying her artwork under the label of ‘onimacreations’. Being an artist she realized her love to emote and perform. It was then when she joined asmita theatre group in delhi and started sending her audition tapes to casting directors in Mumbai. That’s how she got her first advertisement for Himalaya directed by Shirsha Guha. Onima Kashyap is the face of many good brands like Limca which was directed by Ram Madhvani, Nivea with Anushka Sharma directed by Shimit Amin, Lux, Magic Bricks. Her innocent face and honesty brings out the truthfulness of the character she plays onscreen.
She says Creativity is the driving force behind both the mediums, be it Acting or Painting.
