The company was founded in 2011 by seasoned mobile enterprise professionals in order to provide an HTML5 based open source mobile enterprise application platform.
In 2011, OpenMEAP launched the first version of their Mobile Enterprise Application Platform (MEAP) which operates on premises or in the Cloud.
In 2012 OpenMEAP, was named as one of the top new mobile OpenSource projects in 2011 as stated by "Black Duck Software".[1]
In 2013, OpenMEAP launches their first release candidate of their Open Source Mobile Enterprise Application Platform.
In 2014, OpenMEAP was listed for 5 ways open source is transforming tech in 2014 as stated by "OpenSource.com".[2]
