Orman Chingiz oglu Aliyev (Azerbaijani: Orman Çingiz oğlu Əliyev) an Azerbaijani film producer, director, executive director of the Baku Media Center, member of the European Film Academy, Honored Cultural Worker of Azerbaijan (2018).

Biography[edit]

Aliyev Orman Chingiz oglu was born on August 30, 1980 in Baku in an well-respected family.[1] His father is Chingiz Alioglu, a well-known Azerbaijani poet, literary translator and prose writer. He received his secondary education at school No. 8 in Baku. In 1997, he entered the specialty of a television director at the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts, and in 2001 he graduated with a bachelor's degree with honors.[1] In 2001-2003 he obtained a Masters degree in Theater Studies with honors at the same university.[1] He currently holds a Ph.D. in Art History.

From 2000-2001 he worked as an assistant director of the Azerbaijan Television and Radio Company.[1] From 2001-2004 he continued to work as a director on Lider TV.[1] From 2005-2006 he worked as the director of Ictimai Television. From 2006-2007, he served as Deputy Director of the Film and Dubbing Department of Public Television. From 2007-2008, he worked as the director of the department of music and entertainment programs at this television. From 2008-2009, he was the deputy director of the Creative Association "Carçıfilm" at the Public Television.[1] From 2009-2012, he took an active part in the formation of the channel's creative products as the chief director of the director's and camera department of Public Television.

From 2008-2012 he was a member of the Azerbaijani delegation at the Eurovision Song Contest. In 2012, he actively participated in the Eurovision Song Contest, held in Azerbaijan as a producer of the show. Since 2013, Orman Aliyev has been the Executive Director of Baku Media Center, a leading and innovative media company engaged in the production of audiovisual products.[1][2][3] In addition, Orman Aliyev runs the Maverick advertising company, which consists of a team of marketing communications specialistsы. He also demonstrated his professional radio skills. Thus, in November 2022, listeners were presented with two new radio channels led by Orman Aliyev: BakuRetroFM broadcasts retro hits on the 93.3 FM wave, and BakuHitFM on the 97.7 FM wave, which broadcasts world hits.

Orman Aliyev is a working group member for the economic evaluation of projects of the Cinema Council under the Ministry for Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan.[4] In 2022, he was elected a member of the European Film Academy.[5][6]
