Otakunity (オタクニティ, Otakuniti, stylized as Otakunity) is an online Anime social networking service founded in July 16, 2016. The website was developed in order to create a community where anime enthusiasts alike can interact and communicate with each other.

OVERVIEW

“Nobody wants to be an otaku alone.”

The focus of Otakunity is to connect anime enthusiasts alike and provide them a place where they can interact with others, share their favorite anime, and make new friends. It is developed by a team of anime enthusiasts who wanted to create a community where otakus are unified and connected. Otakunity envisions to have friendly and healthy interactions among its users, and wishes to foster appreciation for the anime they enjoy.

•   The registration process only requires the user to input their first name, last name, username, email,  and password. Soon after, a confirmation email will be sent to their email address which will complete the registration process.

•   Otakunity is a combination of the words Otaku[1] (おたく or オタク) and Unity.

•   Otaku (おたく or オタク) is a Japanese term for people with consuming interests, particularly in anime and manga. Unity is oneness of mind, feeling, etc., as among a number of persons; concord, harmony, or agreement.

•   Hence the name “Otakunity” — meaning a community where people of similar interests, particularly in anime and manga, are joined together in harmony and agreement.

•   Otakunity uses Linux, Apache, MySQL, and Perl to serve through the net.

•   Otakunity’s design is inspired by modernized web designs. Users can upload text, photos, videos, and livestream on the website.

•   Using or accessing Otakunity Services considers that you, the user, agreed that we can gather and use such content and information that you provide in maintaining and developing our site. We won’t sell those information or use it in harmful ways . We respect your privacy.
