PC Chandra Jewellers, a part of PC Chandra Group, is an Indian multinational jewellery company, headquartered in Kolkata. It was founded in 1939 by Shri Purna Chandra Chandra and his son Shri J. L. Chandra. It provides gold, diamond, platinum, and silver jewellery with its presence all across India.[1]
History
PC Chandra Jewellers was established in 1939 by Shri Purna Chandra Chandra and Shri J L Chandra in Kolkata. In North Kolkata's Bowbazaar, the business launched its first showroom. Following the success of the initial store, PC Chandra Jewellers extended to other cities like Delhi, Noida, Bangalore, Agartala, Bhubaneswar, Mumbai, Pune, Ranchi, Patna, Jamshedpur, Silchar, Ahmedabad and Guwahati.[2]
P.C. Chandra Jewellers also operates multiple locations throughout West Bengal, including Kolkata, Siliguri, Asansol, Malda, Durgapur, Basirhat, Krishnanagar, Midnapore, Barrackpore etc. PC Chandra Jewellers expanded into major metropolitan areas as well as tier-2 and tier-3 cities in India. It has over 68 stores in India and a presence with other stores in London, Dubai, Singapore and Los Angeles.[3]
Branding
The company has used celebrity endorsements as part of its marketing efforts.[4][5] Bollywood star Sharvari Wagh was named a brand ambassador in 2022.[6] In the past, Kriti Kharbanda, Yami Gautam, Sonakshi Sinha, Nikita Dutta, Saiee Manjrekar and Deepika Padukone[7] have been associated with the brand.
Corporate social responsibility
The company has developed corporate social responsibility (CSR), focusing on educational and empowerment initiatives.[8] P.C. Chandra Jewellers has addressed various humanitarian issues through their philanthropic efforts.
In popular culture
In 2013, P.C. Chandra Jewellers launched P.C. Chandra Goldlites Diva, an annual Beauty pageant.[9][10]
The P.C. Chandra Puraskaar, an annual award ceremony, was founded by P.C. Chandra Jewellers in 1993. Every year the event is organized by the P.C. Chandra Jewelers.[11]
