Padmakar Patil is an Indian politician[1] from the state of Karnataka. He served as the Zilla Parishad Chairman from Bidar district and also served as the chairman[2] of KSSIDC (Karnataka State Small Industries Development Corporation Ltd) in the past.

He had contested for the Humnabad Karnataka Legislative Assembly constituency in Kalyana-Karnataka region of Karnataka in 2013[3][4]. He is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party and a dominant leader from the Maratha community in Karnataka.

Early Career[edit]

Patil started as a lecturer and assistant professor at Maharashtra College of Engineering Nilanga and served as the HOD (Head of Department) for the mechanical engineering department there. His teaching career spanned twelve years. He established educational institutions in Bidar district.

Life and background[edit]

Patil was born in Chandanhalli, Bidar, Karnataka to Shankar Rao Patil and Anjana Bai Patil. His father was involved in the Indian freedom struggle. He is a B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from Sri Siddhartha Institute of Technology, Tumkur. He is married to Ranjana Patil and has a daughter and two sons.
