Parabole is a Canadian (Quebec) independent video game developer based in Quebec City. It was founded in 2012 by Etienne Lemieux, Maxime Charbonneau, and Alexandre Fiset.

History

Parabole was founded by Etienne Lemieux, Maxime Charbonneau, and Alexandre Fiset in 2012. Before creating the studio, all three worked at Beenox, a subsidiary of Activision.[1] Their initial idea for the studio was to create short games for people who did not have a lot of free time.[2] On August 7, 2014, the company launched a crowdfunding campaign on the Kickstarter website to fund the development of Kona, their first game. Their goal of CA$40,000 was reached on September 6, 2014, with CA$44,271 raised by 1,304 people. On July 15, 2022, the game's sequel, Kona II : Brume, was announced.[3] The game was released on October 18, 2023.[4]
