Paradoxical Sajid (Bengali: প্যারাডক্সিক্যাল সাজিদ) is a series of novel on Islam written by Bangladeshi writer Arif Azad. It is a collection of short stories arranged in response to various questions against the Islamic faith in the commentary of a character named Sajid. In it, the author tries to disprove the anti-Islamic questions through Islamic information, logic, philosophy, science and reality, and from there tries to prove the weakness of the opponent's argument.[1][2][3]
Character identity and summary[edit]
The main character of the story is named 'Sajid'. The author himself is the side character in the book. Writer Sajid's friend, roommate. Sajid is a student of microbiology at Dhaka University. In the first story of the book, Sajid is seen as a skeptic. At the last stage of the extensive debate on the existence and non-existence of the Creator, Sajid is seen regaining faith in his Creator and in Islam. Then the believer Sajid in one story after another reveals his Islamic faith to various curious people. Through his information and reasoning, he tries to dispel the doubts of those who have doubts about Islam and the Creator. Sajid sometimes explains to his teacher Mofizur Rahman why the creator is not controversial on the issue of 'destiny' or 'fate'. Sajid's argument shows why the creator is praised for his good deeds but not for his bad deeds. He comes to Sajid's elder brother Tulya Biplob Da and proves how the modern terminology of science 'Quantum' mechanics can in no way reject the Creator. He shows further evidence as to why the Creator, in spite of being merciful, created terrible things like hell. Another character by the name of Neelu Da, who is as much admired by Sajid as Biplob Da as his elder brother, proves to him that no verse of the Qur'an is in any way 'terrorist'. Thus, in different places, in different contexts, Sajid is seen as an experienced speaker, rationalist and realist in presenting the virtues, accuracy and authenticity of Islam.
Paradoxical Sajid-1[edit]
Paradoxical Sajid-1 is the first book in this series. The book was published at the Amar Ekushey Book Fair in February.[4] The book was unveiled on February 9, 2017. The book is published by Guardian Publications. Shortly after its release, the book went on to become a bestseller. In opening year, it was sold 175,000 copies in rokomari.com.[5] Beside Bengali, the book has been also translated in English and Assamese languages.[6][7][8] The titles of the short stories in the book are as follows:

Paradoxical Sajid-2[edit]
The book Paradoxical Sajid-2 is the second installment of the book "Paradoxical Sajid-1" published by the author at Ekushey Book Fair 2017. The book was the best seller at the 2019 Ekushey Book Fair and after the publication of the book was stopped at the 2019 Book Fair by the government at several points, it was allowed to be republished again.[9][10][11][12][13] The titles of the short stories in the book are as follows:
