Dusty Days is a novel by the Iraqi novelist Zuhair Al Hitti.[1] The novel was published by Dar Al Tanweer for printing and publishing, specifically in Beirut, year 2016. As it was longlisted for the International Prize for Arabic Fiction known as The Arab Booker Prize, year 2017.[2]

About the Novel[edit]

Zuhair discusses in this novel the story of (Ghosn Al Bab), it started with the fall of Baghdad and the entry of the American occupation into Iraq. Chaos and revenge killings prevailed under the slogan of ridding the country of Saddam Hussein’s regime. Militias sowed fear in the hearts of large segments of the Iraqi people, especially Christians in Iraq. (Ghosn Al Bab) is from a dynasty that built its glory during the days of the Iraqi monarchy. In addition, observing the transformation of Iraqi society, and reads it through paintings that was by famous artists that her grandfather acquired and hung on the wall of the great hall. Adding her relationships with various Christian personalities[3]
