Pascal Schärer is a Swiss orienteer who competes in foot orienteering. He has achieved notable results at the Junior World Orienteering Championships and has represented Switzerland at European Championships and World Cup level, particularly in sprint and knock-out sprint disciplines.
Junior career
Schärer was part of the Swiss junior national team and enjoyed significant success at the Junior World Orienteering Championships. At JWOC 2021 in Turkey he won a bronze medal in the relay and finished eighth in the sprint. At JWOC 2023 in Romania he took bronze in the long distance, placed fifth in the middle distance, and added further top‑ten results in other disciplines and mixed relay events.
Senior career
After moving into senior competition, Schärer competed at the European Orienteering Championships 2025 in Hasselt, Belgium, where his best result was 79th place in the knock-out sprint. On the Orienteering World Cup circuit, his best World Cup result to date has been 45th place in the knock-out sprint at a World Cup round in Skara–Lidköping, Sweden, in 2026.
In 2026 Schärer reached the final of the men's knock-out sprint at the 2026 FISU World University Championship Orienteering in Vila Real, Portugal. He finished third in the final, earning a university‑level podium behind French runner Guilhem Verove and Norwegian orienteer Cornelius Bjørk.
