Inari Karppinen is a Finnish orienteer who competes in foot orienteering. She won the women’s middle distance at the 2026 FISU World University Championship Orienteering in Vila Real, Portugal, and has also competed internationally in the World Cup and other major IOF events.[1][2]
Karppinen’s World of O profile lists her as a Finnish athlete with World Ranking positions of 161 in middle/long and 62 in sprint as of 30 September 2025. It also records a best World Cup result of 33rd place in the sprint at the 2024 World Cup round in Genoa, Italy.[3]
Career
Karppinen’s international results profile shows regular participation in senior IOF competitions, including World Cup sprint races and ranking events. Her 2024 World Cup result in Genoa was her best recorded World Cup performance listed on World of O as of late 2025.[4]
At the 2026 FISU World University Championship Orienteering, Karppinen won the women’s middle distance in 29:00, ahead of Sweden’s Klara Borg and France’s Fanny Delahaye.[5] The result was one of the standout performances of the championship and gave Finland a gold medal in the final event of the programme.
