Pathways Financial Credit Union (referred to as Pathways) is a full-service, not-for-profit credit union serving 4 counties in Dayton, Southern and Central Ohio with more than $500 million in assets and more than 49,000 members. Pathways has 12 service centers,[1] online and telephone banking,[2] and a digital app.
History[edit]
Pathways was chartered on August 1, 2012, when three Central Ohio credit unions (Members First, Powerco, and Western) merged to form Pathways Financial Credit Union.[3][4] In June 2013, WECU Credit Union of Marysville, Ohio also became a part of Pathways. Most recently, Pathways increased in size by acquiring Incenta Credit Union[5][6] located in the Dayton, Ohio area.[7]
Pathways offers many traditional banking services, including lines of credit, auto loans,[8] mortgages, insurance,[9] business accounts, and personal accounts.
In 2022, Pathways Financial Credit Union possesses assets of over $584 million while serving over 49,000 consumer and business members with multiple branch locations throughout Central Ohio, the Dayton / Springfield area, and Southern Ohio.[10]
In April 2022, Pathways partnered with the state of Ohio to became the first credit union in the state to offer a Family Forward Loan[11] as a means to decrease the cost of adoption for potential parents.
Awards[edit]
Pathways is a two-time recipient of the Columbus CEO Best of Business Awards,[12] winning multiple awards in different banking categories.[13]
Community involvement[edit]
Pathways is a community driven institute that is involved in local annual events and outings including Art Shows,[14] Grandview Easter Egg Hunt, Union County Fair, Memorial Health Golf Outing, Grandview Fall Festival, First Responders Day, New Albany Trunk of Treat, and Taste of Gahanna.
Pathways holds annual Shred Days, inviting community members to dispose of documents that contain personal information.[15][16]
In September 2022, Pathways Financial Credit Union, in partnership with Columbus based non-profit Socks for Soldiers, helped collect and deliver personal care items to send to U.S. soldiers overseas.[17][18]
In 2021 Pathways became the Official Credit Union of the Columbus Crew.[19] The two continue to support each other in their efforts, with Pathways being an active member in Columbus Crew philanthropy events.[20] In partnership with the Crew, Pathways launched the "Pathways Saves" initiative to help fund local soccer organizations.[21] In September of 2022, Pathways made a $5,000 donation to the Kiwanis Club of Northwest Columbus to help the Youth Soccer Program purchase new equipment.[22]
Since inception, Pathways Credit Union has made several large donations to help fund community initiatives. Most recently, in October 2022, Pathways made several large donations to different non-profit organizations in the community including a $2,500 donation to the Hope Center in Marysville, Ohio to help fund the Hope Center's Community Kitchen,[23][24] which serves free meals to anyone regardless of residency, as well as a $3,000 donation to Project Woman to help fund the organization's services and programming.[25][26]
