Patrick Mahé O'Chinal, also known as Patrig de Saint-Bertais, born on 13 May 1947, in Vannes, is a journalist and writer and municipal councilor of Vannes.

Biography[edit]

His grandparents were born in Lorient and Vannes and his origins are Irish.[1]. He has two children from a first marriage with Françoise Cocault, known as Françoise Lemoine: Gaël, and Jildaz, political activist supporting Marine Le Pen, in 2007[2]. He married Michèle Annick Gerriet, director of a public relations agency. He is the stepfather of three children. His son is the co-founder of the website Egalité et reconciliation of the holocaust denier, Alain Soral.

In his youth, he was active in the Federation of Nationalist Students and the movement Occident, then was part of the political bureau of Pour une Jeune Europe, Nicolas Tandler, a movement inspired by revolutionary nationalism stemming from a break with New Order. He also cultivates an interest in Breton nationalism[3][4][5]

He joins the Figaro and in 1981, Paris Match until 1996, interviews Valéry Giscard d'Estaing, published the pictures of Mazarine Pingeot, in 1994, the daughter of François Mitterrand, welcomes Raoni in Roissy and talks to Jacques Mesrine in his cell. Agent of Brigitte Bardot, in 1995 and 1996, he joins Premiere magazine after 9/11 and founds the Salon du livre en Bretagne and invites Yann Queffélec, Irène Frain, Gilles Servat, Philippe Le Guillou, Alexandra Lapierre, Tatiana de Rosnay, Mona Ozouf, under the presidency of Jean-Christophe Rufin, Didier Decoin, Jean Teulé, Michel Bussi. In october 2021, he becomes director at Paris Match.
